RMS provides a collection of services used by Rosetta Media Manager and the content providers to deliver and manage media (both licensed and non-licensed). RMS has two service sets one set interacts with the RMM, providing it services for
- Authentication
- Authorization
- User Subscription management
- Device profile management - Personal Digital Network Management
- Certificate management and restoration
- Software Updates
- Content delivery brokerage.
The RMS system is capable of managing many to many relationships both as to content providers, distributors and end users. The end user data is stored anonymously and is identified by a unique ID and mapped to an email address. When a user signs up for an account with a content provider their unique RMS ID number is then provided to the Content provider so that they can map them to their account. In this manner the RMS system can track anonymous usage patterns based on devices and unique identification numbers associated with those devices. This information can then be used to monitor the Personal Digital Network and police devices entering and exiting those Personal Digital Networks.
